Kit and Tackle Reviews

On here I will be sharing the kit and tackle I have brought and used and will write a honest report on it.

Korum Chair with Accessories

This is a gift off my wife for Christmas, I wanted something light, easy to carry and too keep all my kit off the ground so I stop standing on it, and this is perfect! Very sturdy, well built and ultra light in my opinion! Great for days on the Canal like I did today! I use the Preston Feeder Arm, Small Preston Bait Tray and the small Preston Arm with Buttt support! Amazing Gift!

Diawa TDR Reel

I need a reel that I could use for a manner of fishing, from Pellet Waggler on commercial, Feeder work or Float fishing on the Canals. So I decided on one of the best reels out there, actually I liked it that much I know have 2 and due to by another one when the tackle shop gets it in! So that's one the Feeder Rod, one on the Bomb Rod and one on the Float Rod! Not a lot I can say that's already out there on the net, a well loved reel!

Simply Awesome!

Maver Powerlite 11FT Rod

I need a rod that would be sensitive and forgiving but needed to have a back bone to hand to be able to deal with the strength of the big Perch I will be pursuing with a float set up. I got the chance to try it this weekend, but no fish! But I am very happy with how light it is and the feel of the rod! I will update this review when I have hooked a fish and the play on the rod, but so far I'm very happy and I can see me using this at Gold Valley next year for a Pellet Waggler session next year!

Savage Gear: 3D Crayfish

Now, I will admit I didn't like the look of these when I first seen them, but with all the hype I decided to give them ago! With in  a few casts I was in with my first Pike of 5LB, and that is my second biggest Pike and the Biggest from the Basingstoke Canal! There very easy to put together, and they look amazing in the water! I'm a fan now, even with all my criticism at the start, I take it back! This is going to rip venues apart!

Nash Dwarf 9ft 3TC Rods

Now 12ft-13ft rods are great but when I spend a lot of my time stalking and staying mobile on the canal for carp there a little to big and with some of the path becoming very tight at times I thought I could do with a smaller rod! So, I checked out the Nash Dwarf Range. From there I did the research, talking to guys who owned them and fished not only venues like canals and rivers but found out that people also used them for BIG open water venues/syndicates lakes.... But not just for Carp but for Pike as well! And at a much cheaper price then the Nash Scope, I thought lets give them ago!

I have used these for a good few sessions now, and I must say I very happy with them! A great rod, specially for confined venues/swims like canals and rivers!

The Diawa SS2600 Reel

There is not to much I can say about these reels as the reviews for years and anglers on the banks will tell you all! There just a great all round reel! However, when I was searching for 2 reels for all kinds of fishing, from Carping, Pike to fishing the running rivers for Barbel I was wanted a reliable reel! And when asking on the forums time and time again the DSS2600's just kept getting mentioned! brilliant smooth action, surprisingly quite light and look awesome!

JAG Bank Sticks

I have never owned a pair of bank sticks before as with my match fishing in the past I used attachments on my box to support the rod, so talking to a lot of guys at the tackle shop to see which ones would be best and last! I heard a lot of stories and witnessed it myself people banging in Bank Sticks and them bending etc so I wanted to buy a decent pair so I wasn't going to buying a new pair every year.

So, with the recommendation and all the great write up and reviews I brought the JAG Ultra Light Bank Sticks and I have to say I'm very impressed! very light, super strong and look great! they even have a safety lock so in the dark if packing up or what so ever the screw that holds the insert/extension to allow the bank stick to become longer doesn't fall out!

Totally happy with these and will last a life time!

Korum Roving Rucksake

Great bit of kit, loads of room, space for a number of tackle/lure boxes, has a area to keep frozen bait, straps to allow you to attach your unhooking mat, comes with a Korum Mazi Tackle Box and clips to allow you to clip on your landing net.

Awesome bit of kit and very comfy for those long roving days!
